Charles Mok, is the Legislative Councillor representing the Information Technology Functional Constituency. He has been serving the ICT industry for more than 20 years. 

 

He is currently the Vice Chairman of the Professional Commons, Honorary President of the Hong Kong Information Technology Federation and Founding Chairman of the Internet Society Hong Kong.

 

Charles is active in public services with a view to upholding the core values of Hong Kong of which include democracy, liberty, human rights, rule of law and integrity, and is serving on various advisory bodies in the Hong Kong government, Hospital Authority, WKCDA, and higher educational institutions etc.

 

Charles graduated from Purdue University in the United States with his Bachelor and Master degrees of Science in Computer and Electrical Engineering.

Ir Dr Hon. Wai Kwok Lo, SBS, MH, JP

Ir Dr the Hon. Lo Wai Kwok, SBS, MH, JP, is Member of the Legislative Council of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, representing the Engineering Functional Constituency. 

 

Dr Lo is very active in the community and has served many government organizations, professional bodies and trade associations.  He was President of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers in the session 2007/08 and was a Sha Tin District Councilor for many years. He is currently Chairman of the Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency, member of the Hong Kong Science & Technology Park Board of Directors, member of the Housing Authority, the Hospital Authority, and the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority. He is Chairman of the Business and Professionals Alliance for Hong Kong, Chairman of the Hong Kong Green Strategy Alliance, and Immediate Past President of the Hong Kong Professionals and Senior Executives Association.

Mr Daniel Chun

 

Chairman of Smart City Blueprint SIG,

Smart City Consortium

Daniel is currently serving as the Chairman for the Smart City Consortium (SCC) Blueprint Special Interest Group (SIG). In 2016, he led SCC in a public consultation exercise to solicit input for implementing Smart City in Hong Kong; he later published an interim report for the OCGIO, Energizing East Kowloon Office and the Planning Department for the development of the Smart City blueprint in Hong Kong as well as to promote the adoption of sustainable and green technologies.

 

Daniel also serves as a committee member at the Hong Kong Electronics & Technologies Association. Professionally, Daniel lead as the GM and EVP of Market Innovations at Remotec Technology Limited which focuses in smart controls, home automation and the emerging opportunities in the Internet of Things (IoT) market.  At Remotec, Daniel invented a SmartAirCon product concept, which won the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (END) HKEPC 2016 competition. SmartAirCon advocates the sustainable use of air conditioning to reduce carbon footprint and reduce the consumption of electricity and promote green living. After a year in development, the SmartAirCon IoT product will be commercially launched in Hong Kong ready for this summer. Remotec is currently a sponsor for World Green Organization for their sustainability project.

 

Daniel started off his career as a head programmer at Hutchsion Mobile Data in 1990 and had launched CompuServe in HK. Since Hutchison, Daniel had been a business development professional in telecom businesses in Asia (Taiwan Mobile, Iridium, Wharf T&T). During the dotcom era, he became a resident-entrepreneur at a venture capital fund in Europe based in Malta. He later immigrated to Canada after 9/11 where he started up his own brick and mortar toy store. He sold his toy business in 2007 and joined a Canadian toy company and became involved in invention, licensing, design and product innovations. In his spare time, Daniel is an adjunct lecturer at City University and HKUSPACE in PR and Marketing Communication.

Prof Vincent Lau

Vincent obtained B.Eng (Distinction 1st Hons) from the University of Hong Kong (1989-1992) and Ph.D. from the Cambridge University (1995-1997). He completed the Ph.D. degree in two years and joined Bell Labs from 1997-2004. He joined the Department of ECE, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) in 2004 and is currently a Chair Professor and the Founding Director of Huawei-HKUST Joint Innovation Lab at HKUST. He is also elected as IEEE Fellow, HKIE Fellow, Croucher Senior Research Fellow and Changjiang Chair Professor. Vincent has published more than 400 IEEE journal and conference papers and has contributed to 60+ US patents on various wireless systems. In addition, he serves as technology advisor and consultant for many key industrial players in wireless communications.

 

His current research focus includes key enabling technologies for 5G wireless networks, cross-layer radio resource management for wireless systems, Massive MIMO, Compressive Sensing, Networked Control Systems as well as PHY Caching for Wireless Networks.

Miss Leung Yiu Kwok, Debbie

Ms. Debbie Leung is the Head of Solution Architect of Huawei Enterprise Business Group. She has been at the forefront of IoT solutions development. Ms. Leung brings to Huawei more than 15 years of experience in telecommunications and IP networking. She has extensive knowledge and solid understanding in network design, Cloud and Security services, solution strategy

and product marketing in the ICT field.

She joined Huawei in 2015 as Senior Product Manager and she has involved for many major government projects including the Marine VTSS, Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge and Central – Wan Chai Bypass during the time.

Ms. Leung holds a bachelor degree in electrical engineering at McGill University in Canada, with a major in computer system and architecture.

Mr Garrick Ng

Garrick is the Chief Technology Officer for Cisco Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, leading Cisco’s Enterprise, Commercial and Service Provider systems engineering strategy and operation in these markets. Bringing to the company more than two decades of technical and business experience in the ICT industry, Garrick joined Cisco in 2007 and assumed the role of Head of Systems Engineering for Cisco Hong Kong and Macau in 2012.

Garrick is dedicated to contributing his expertise and experience in the IT field to the community. He is involved in many facets of the industry, serving as Vice President, IoT & Mobility Special Interest Group, and Committed Member of the Information Security Special Interest Group, both under Hong Kong Computer Society; Chairman of the Smart City Consortium Security Special Interest Group, and Committee Member of the Cyber Security Alliance under Hong Kong Information Technology Federation. Most recently, Garrick was awarded Gold in the Cyber Security Professional Awards, organized by the Hong Kong Police Force, the Government Computer Emergency Response Team Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Computer Emergency Response Team Coordination Center to recognize for his unique capabilities and excellence in cyber security.

Mr Jamal Cheema

With over a decade's experience in energy regulation and pricing, strategy, wholesale, demand management and smart grid for Australia's largest utility, Ausgrid, Jamal delivered Australia's largest smart grid program to date with the Australian Federal Government's $450M 'Smart Grid, Smart Cities'  (SGSC) project. Operational technology featured in SGSC included SCADA/DMS, distribution substation automation and control, telecommunications, smart metering and customer applications. Jamal's leads Landis+Gyr's business and technology solutions practice and project deployment teams across Asia Pacific.

Dr Allen Wong

Dr. Allen Wong is the Head of Product and Business Development of HKT Limited, responsible for product management and business development that serves Residential market segment.  This includes ‘eye’ multimedia service for fixed line, Netvigator fiber broadband, Smart Living home automation and networking, HKT Education e-Learning solutions and Smart Charge electric-vehicle charging services.  Allen is also one of the founders and technology inventors of “nowTV” IPTV platform. 

Allen has over 20 years of R&D experience in Broadband Internet and Video Technologies over different kinds of physical media such as Coaxial cable, Satellite, xDSL, Fiber and WiFi.  Prior joining PCCW Ltd in 2001, Allen has held several senior technical sales positions in 3Com Asia Pacific Ltd., Harmonics Inc., LSI Logic, C-Cube Micro-system and A.S. Watson Group (A Hutchison Whampoa Company).  Allen holds a Ph.D. degree in Opto-eletronics Engineering from University of Bath, UK and BSc (First Class Honours) in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from the same university.

Mr Ron Chung

Ron Chung is the Director of Engineering and Technical Services for Smart Charge (HK) Limited. He is an electrical engineer by training and has over 23 years of experience in the gas and power industry with diverse roles in projects and maintenance, marketing and customer services, business strategy and regulatory affairs.

 

He was a lead member of CLP Power’s special electric vehicle project team in 2009 which brought about the first wave of electric vehicles and public charging stations in Hong Kong.  Ron also has an environmental & sustainability background and is an advocate for clean transportation and energy efficiency.  He has worked with the Climate Change Business Forum (CCBF) in Hong Kong as the working group Chairman for Energy Efficient Buildings and is currently a steering committee member of the Advisory Group for Transport & Logistics under the Business Environment Council (BEC).
